haskap berries

What in the heck is haskap?

We get that a lot!

Haskap is a sweet berry—a superfood—high in antioxidants and phenols, and delicious to eat! Sometimes called honeyberry, they grow well in cold environments. This means can grow them right here in Mission Valley, Montana!

Originating in Japan, Haskap has gained popularity in Canada, where it is hardy enough to survive through long winters, and is slowly entering the U.S. market.

What can you do with Haskap?

Anything!

They are deliciously sweet with a hint of tartness, perfect for eating on their own. Some of our favorite haskap treats are haskap muffins, haskap jelly, and fruit leather. The berries freeze well, so you can enjoy them all year long.

Haskap Wine

haskap plant and berries

Haskap makes delicious wine! It has a high sugar content and is easy to juice, which makes it an ideal choice for wineries. Winemakers in the north enjoy using Haskap because it is hardy enough to grow fresh in colder climates. It also has a more neutral flavor for creating table wine.
